Anette Skjerdal, OD, MA

Dr. Skjerdal has been a part of New York Eye Specialists since February 2000. She has participated in the pre- and post-operative care of tens of thousands of refractive surgery patients. In addition, she has worked extensively in the fitting of therapeutic contact lenses for post-intac keratoconic patients.
Previous career highlights include several years spent contracted with the US Coast Guard, during which time Dr. Skjerdal had the privilege of caring for service members and their families on Governors Island in NY Harbor. Prior to this, she spent five years in Norway, where she worked primarily with contact lens patients and also acted as a clinical advisor at a technical school.
Dr. Skjerdal has volunteered her time professionally, including participation in a 2010 mission to Honduras. She has also been published in the Journal of American Optometry.
After graduating summa cum laude from Brooklyn College, Dr. Skjerdal earned her MA at New York University. As a SUNY Optometry graduate, Dr. Skjerdal was inducted into the international optometric honor society, Beta Sigma Kappa. In March 2014, she achieved status as a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry.
