Elizabeth Viriya, MD
Dr. Elizabeth Viriya joined the New York Eye Specialists family over a year ago. Dr. Viriya believes there is no greater service than enabling people to lead happier and more productive lives. With this philosophy, she provides a full range of general ophthalmology care with a specialty in ocular surface disorders, corneal diseases, and refractive surgery.
She graduated from Columbia University at the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, the SUNY Downstate School of Medicine, a residency at Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center affiliated with the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, and fellowship training at Scripps Health and the Gordon Schanzlin New Vision Institute.
She is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, published book chapters, presented basic science and clinical research at national meetings, and written materials for continuing medical education for ophthalmologists.
Her volunteer work as a surgeon in underserved areas includes the SaveSight mission in Pampanga, Philippines, Project Access in San Diego, CA, and Kenya Relief in Migori Kenya.
She is conversant in Spanish after traveling to Spain, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic. She is a proud mother of two adorable kids who make every day an adventure.
